Belly Care is built privacy-first. The app helps you track your meals, symptoms, moods and gut habits so you can understand your own patterns. This policy explains what we collect, how it is handled, and the control you have over it.

Local-first by default

Your health logs — meals, poops on the Bristol scale, symptoms, moods, medications and habits — are stored on your device. By default they are not uploaded to our servers. You can export everything as JSON at any time, or delete it permanently from within the app.

What we collect

  • Health logs you enter: kept on your device unless you explicitly choose to back up or sync.
  • Food Scanner photos: when you scan a meal, the image may be sent to our processing provider to estimate fiber, ingredients, FODMAPs and allergens. Photos are used only to return that result and are not used to advertise to you.
  • Apple Health (optional): if you enable it, Belly Care can read or write relevant health data. This sync is off until you turn it on and can be revoked anytime in iOS Settings.
  • Diagnostics: basic, non-identifying app analytics and crash data to keep the app working. You can opt out in the app settings.

What we never do

  • We never sell your data.
  • We do not show third-party ads.
  • We do not share your health logs with advertisers or data brokers.

Your control

  • Export: download all your data as JSON whenever you like.
  • Delete: erase your data from the device permanently.
  • Revoke access: turn off Apple Health sync or diagnostics at any time.

Not medical advice

Belly Care helps you observe patterns and build healthy habits. It does not diagnose or treat any condition, and the patterns it surfaces are starting points to explore — not a diagnosis. For persistent symptoms, please consult a doctor and feel free to bring your exported logs along.

Children

Belly Care is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update this page and adjust the "last updated" date above.
